Savory Rolled Turkish Pastry

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups warm milk
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 6 cups flour

Topping

  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon molasses
  • sesame seeds

Filling

  • kaşar cheese (optional)
  • white cheese (optional)
  • olive paste (optional)

Preparation

  1. Put the milk and liquid oil into a mixing bowl.

  2. Add one tablespoon of sugar and yeast to it.

  3. Wait 10 minutes for the yeast to activate.

  4. Then add salt, liquid oil, and flour, and knead well.

  5. Cover the dough and let it rest for 45 minutes to rise.

  6. Divide the dough into pieces, stuff with the filling, and roll into a roll shape.

  7. Place on a baking tray and let rest for another 10 minutes.

  8. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

  9. Bake in a preheated 200°C oven until golden brown.
