Classic Turkish Tres Leches Cake
Ingredients
Cake
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tea glass warm water
- 1 tea glass vegetable oil
- 1 packet baking powder
- 2 cups flour
Milk syrup
- 1.5 liters milk
- 1 tea glass granulated sugar (optional)
Cream topping
- 1 packet whipped cream powder, prepared according to package instructions
Caramel sauce
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180°C and lightly grease the baking tray, then set it aside.
For the cake, beat the sugar and eggs together until they turn white, then add the remaining cake ingredients, mix well, pour into the prepared tray, smooth the top, and bake in the preheated oven until golden brown on top and bottom.
For the milk syrup, combine all the syrup ingredients in a bowl and stir until the sugar dissolves.
Remove the cake from the oven, let it rest for one to two minutes, then pour the milk syrup evenly over it.
Prepare the whipped cream topping according to the package instructions, set aside a small portion for piping, and spread the rest over the cake.
For the caramel sauce, place the sugar in a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it completely melts.
Add the butter to the melted sugar and stir until it dissolves, then pour in the heavy cream and stir until well combined, remove from heat, and let it cool completely.
Drizzle the cooled caramel sauce over the cream topping, pipe the reserved whipped cream on top in stripes, and use a toothpick to create designs.
Let the cake rest for one to two hours before serving.
