Orange Mother's Cookies
Ingredients
- 3 eggs (one yolk reserved for topping)
- 1.5 cups granulated sugar
- 125 g butter at room temperature
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- Juice of 2 oranges
- 1 packet baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- A few drops lemon juice
- Grated zest of 1 orange
- 4-5 cups flour
Preparation
Mix eggs, sugar, orange juice, yogurt, and oils.
Add orange zest, baking powder, and baking soda; mix by hand.
Gradually add flour until a soft, sticky dough forms.
Grease your hands with oil and form the dough into medium mandarin-sized balls.
Roll the balls quickly in your palms, brush with the reserved egg yolk, and dip in sugared walnuts.
Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet with space between them, as the cookies will double in size.
Bake in a preheated 180°C oven until golden brown.
