Traditional Azerbaijani Fruit Kompot

Ingredients

  • Fruits of choice, up to half the jar
  • Less than 1.5 teaspoons powdered sugar
  • 2-3 slices of peeled lemon
  • 3-4 strands of mint
  • Boiling water, to fill the jar

Preparation

  1. Fill a jar with chosen fruits up to half full.

  2. Add less than 1.5 teaspoons of powdered sugar.

  3. Add 2-3 slices of peeled lemon and 3-4 strands of mint.

  4. Pour boiling water into the jar until it is full.

  5. Wrap the jar in a warm cloth or blanket.

  6. Let it sit overnight.

  7. Open the jar the next day and store it for winter use.
