Caramelized French Onion Sausage Dip
Ingredients
- 2 yellow onions
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 lb Jones Dairy Farm Pork Sausage Roll
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 8oz cream cheese, softened
- chives for topping
Preparation
Slice the onions very thinly.
Add butter to a large saucepan and heat over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the onions and sauté for about five minutes until just soft. Then add salt, dried thyme, and Worcestershire sauce. Sauté over medium heat for about 10 minutes or until beginning to caramelize and soften. Add minced garlic and cook for 5 more minutes. Remove from heat and place in a bowl to cool.
Add the sausage to the same pan, break it up while cooking, and cook until no longer pink. Place in a bowl to cool.
While the sausage and onions are cooling, whisk together the plain Greek yogurt and softened cream cheese.
Stir in the cooled onions and sausage and mix until well combined.
Top with chopped chives and serve with chips, pita, or veggies.
