Spicy Indonesian Peppered Beef Stew
Ingredients
- 0.5 kg beef, thinly sliced
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 liter water
Ground spices
- 25 bird's eye chilies
- 10 large red chilies
- 10 curly chilies
- 8 shallots
- 8 garlic cloves
- 3 lemongrass
- 2 inches ginger
- 3 inches galangal
- 1 sachet ground pepper
- 2 candlenuts, roasted
- salt
- stock powder
- granulated sugar
Preparation
Blend the ground spices
Sauté with bay leaves until fragrant
Add beef and stir evenly until beef changes color
Add water and stir evenly
Cover the pan and cook on medium heat while occasionally stirring
Cook until water is reduced a little
