Mcdonald's Style French Fries

Ingredients

  • 5 medium potatoes
  • 100 grams cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons sago flour (not tapioca or kanji)
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder (optional)
  • powdered stock to taste
  • ice water as needed
  • oil for frying

Preparation

  1. Peel the potato skin, cut into long pieces, and wash clean.

  2. Boil water until boiling, add potatoes and cook until half done, then discard the water, soak in ice water for 3-5 minutes, drain, and dry with tissue to keep potatoes dry.

  3. Mix and stir evenly cornstarch, sago flour, pepper powder, stock or salt, and baking powder, then coat the potatoes evenly.

  4. Heat oil, fry potatoes until golden brown, then lift and drain.

Notes

  1. Making your own french fries at home is more economical and allows for unlimited servings without extra cost.
