Fried Stuffed Tofu with Meatball Filling

Ingredients

Filling

  • 250g ground beef
  • 50g minced chicken fillet
  • 2 green onions (finely chopped)
  • 200g sago flour
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 100g ice water

Spice mix

  • 5 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon powdered stock (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Tofu outer layer

  • 20 pieces tofu
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

  1. Make a hole in each tofu piece.

  2. Soak the tofu in a mixture of minced garlic and salt, let sit for 10 minutes, then set aside.

  3. Mix all filling ingredients and spice mix together.

  4. Stuff the filling into the prepared tofu.

  5. Steam the stuffed tofu for 15 minutes or until cooked.

  6. Fry in oil over medium heat until golden brown.
