Yeast-Free Spinach and Cheese Fried Pies
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups warm water
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- approximately 4 cups flour
Filling
- 500 grams spinach
- 1 onion
- cheese
- salt
- red pepper flakes
Preparation
Knead the dough ingredients together in a bowl; the dough should not be too soft.
Wash and chop the spinach for the filling.
Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a pan and add the cubed onions.
Sauté the onions until they are pinkish, then add the spinach.
Cook until the spinach releases and reabsorbs its water, then add salt and red pepper flakes, stir, and remove from heat.
Let the filling cool.
Once the filling has cooled, add cheese to it.
Divide the dough into small pieces, flour them, and roll out with a rolling pin.
Place some of the cooled filling in the center of each dough piece and seal the dough around it.
Trim the edges with a tool or knife if necessary, and fry in hot oil until golden.
Tips
This recipe uses no yeast and the dough is designed not to absorb oil.
You can use any desired filling ingredients instead of spinach and cheese.
