Cake Balls with Sugar and Cocoa Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 packet chocolate pound cake
- 1 teaspoon saffron
- 3 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
Covering
- 2 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 4 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
Decoration
- Chopped hazelnuts
Preparation
Bring a shallow-rimmed tray and set it aside.
In a deep bowl, crumble the cake into small pieces and add the saffron and sweetened condensed milk.
With your fingertips, mix the ingredients to form a cohesive dough.
Take portions of the dough about the size of a walnut, shape them into small balls, and place them in the tray. Continue until all dough is used.
For the covering: In a deep bowl, place the sifted powdered sugar and unsweetened cocoa powder and gradually add the milk.
Using a hand whisk, mix to create a smooth sauce.
Place the balls in a suitable serving dish, spread the sauce over them, and serve immediately.
