Mini Basbousa with Cheese
Ingredients
- 1 cup fine semolina
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon qaymer
- 3 tablespoons cheese
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation
Prepare a mini cupcake tin by lining it with decorative paper cups.
Set the oven rack to the middle position and preheat the oven to 180°C.
In a mixer bowl, combine semolina, baking powder, sugar, qaymer, cheese, oil, egg, and vanilla and mix on medium speed for 3 minutes until a basbousa mixture forms.
Distribute the mixture into the cups, filling them two-thirds full and sprinkle with almond slices.
Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and immediately drizzle with syrup, then allow to cool completely before serving.
