Chocolate Basbousa Dessert
Ingredients
- 1 cup fine semolina
- 1 cup powdered milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup clotted cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon instant coffee
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
For serving
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup grated chocolate
For garnish
- Nuts
Preparation
Set the middle rack in the oven and preheat to 180°C.
Prepare a 9-inch baking dish.
Grease the dish with tahini and set aside.
In a bowl, combine semolina, powdered milk, sugar, egg, vanilla, clotted cream, milk, instant coffee, baking powder, and cocoa powder. Mix well with a hand whisk.
Pour the mixture into the prepared dish.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Remove from the oven and immediately pour the sweetened condensed milk over it. Allow to cool completely.
Grate the chocolate and spread it over the basbousa, then garnish with nuts and serve.
