Quick Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups fine-grained sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups plain cocoa powder
  • 2 cups chopped nuts
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups soft butter
  • 4 large eggs

Preparation

  1. Set the rack in the middle of the oven and preheat the oven to 180°C.

  2. Prepare a 13x9 inch pan by lining it with parchment paper.

  3. In a mixer bowl, combine sugar, cocoa, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, vanilla, butter, and eggs. Mix on medium speed until well blended.

  4. Remove the mixer. Add nuts and stir with a wide plastic spoon until mixed.

  5. Pour the mixture into the pan and spread evenly.

  6. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.

  7. To remove, lift out using the parchment paper.

  8. Cut into squares and serve.
