Simple Japanese Dorayaki Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup milk (full-cream or fresh, or substitute with 2 tablespoons powdered milk mixed with 3/4 cup warm water)

Preparation

  1. Mix milk, egg, sugar, oil, and salt until well combined and fully dissolved.

  2. Sift flour with baking powder and add to the mixture, stir until smooth.

  3. Let the batter rest for 15 minutes.

  4. Heat a non-stick pan over low heat and cook the pancakes to your preferred size.
