Brazilian Cornmeal Cake with Guava
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- fennel seeds to taste
For layering
- guava paste pieces
Preparation
Blend the egg, milk, oil, sugar, and cornmeal in a blender until smooth
Pour the mixture into a bowl and stir in the flour and baking powder
Pour a layer of batter into a buttered and floured pan
Add a layer of guava paste pieces
Repeat the layers of batter and guava paste until the pan is full
Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C for 40 minutes
