Turkish Kardelen Sponge Cake
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 packet vanilla
- 1 packet baking powder
- 2 cups flour
Soaking liquid
- 3 cups milk
- 1 packet cream (200 ml)
Cream mixture
- 1 liter milk
- almost 1 cup sugar
- 3 heaped tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 heaped tablespoons flour
- 80 grams white chocolate
- 1 packet cream
Preparation
Beat eggs and sugar until frothy in a mixer.
Add water and oil and beat.
Sift dry ingredients and beat briefly.
Pour batter into a large rectangular baking dish lined with parchment paper and bake at 180°C with fan until golden.
Assembly and finishing
Mix the soaking liquid ingredients and pour over the cooled cake.
Combine the cream mixture ingredients in a saucepan, cook until thickened, then spread over the soaked cake.
