Extra Creamy Classic Hummus

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (15 oz) organic chickpeas
  • 1/2 to 1 cup good quality tahini
  • Juice from one large lemon
  • Chickpea juice from the can
  • 3-4 cloves garlic
  • 1-2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Garnishes

  • Chopped purple onions
  • Roasted chickpeas
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Parsley
  • Lemon wedges
  • Crushed red pepper

Preparation

  1. Drain one can of chickpeas and reserve the liquid from the second can.

  2. Blend all ingredients until smooth and creamy.

  3. Plate the hummus in a shallow bowl and decorate with the garnishes.

  4. Enjoy with warm pita bread.
