Homemade Sugar-Free Blueberry Chia Jam
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon maple or date syrup (optional)
Preparation
Add blueberries, lemon juice, and water to a medium saucepan over medium low heat. Mash berries and simmer for 3-5 minutes until juicy. Season to taste with salt and optional sweetener.
Remove from heat and stir in chia seeds. Let cool and thicken.
Store in a jar in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
Tips
You can use any fruit you wish.
Get creative with fun additions like peppers, cardamom, nutmeg, vanilla, or cinnamon.
Add a small amount of natural sweetener like dates or maple syrup if desired.
