Simple Spiced Apple Puree
Ingredients
- 6 medium-sized apples
- 100ml water
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 teaspoon agave syrup
- 1 teaspoon ground vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Some lemon zest
Preparation
Put 100ml of water and the lemon juice in a saucepan, wash the apples, cut into small pieces and add.
Boil briefly over high heat, add agave syrup, vanilla, cinnamon and the lemon zest and simmer over medium heat for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Let it cool down a bit, puree with a hand blender and pour into sterilized preserving jars.
Tips
Leave the peel on the apples because most of the vitamins are under it.
Enjoy the applesauce with porridge, on bread, as an egg replacement for baking or with potato fritters.
