Grilled Pork Banh Mi Sandwich

Ingredients

  • Pork
  • Oyster sauce
  • Fish sauce
  • Lemongrass
  • Palm sugar
  • Baguette
  • Carrot and daikon pickles
  • Coriander

Preparation

  1. Marinate the pork in a mixture of oyster sauce, fish sauce, lemongrass, and palm sugar.

  2. Grill the marinated pork until fully cooked.

  3. Slice the grilled pork and place it in a baguette.

  4. Add the accompaniments including carrot and daikon pickles, coriander, cucumber, mayonnaise, pate, chili, spring onion, and maggi sauce to complete the sandwich.

Notes

  1. Maggi sauce is commonly used in some Vietnamese sandwiches as a seasoning.

  2. This version uses grilled pork, but traditional banh mi often includes cold cuts like cha lua.
