Pimento Cheese Smash Burger
Ingredients
- Cheddar cheese
- Monterey Jack cheese
- Mayonnaise
- Pimento peppers
- Hatch green chiles
- Jalapeños
- Apple cider vinegar
- Water
- Sugar
- Ground beef
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Burger buns
Optional
- Sliced cheddar or American cheese
- Additional toppings
Preparation
Mix cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, mayonnaise, pimento peppers, hatch green chiles, jalapeños, apple cider vinegar, water, and sugar to create the pimento cheese spread.
Form the ground beef into loose balls and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Heat a griddle or skillet over high heat until very hot.
Smash the beef balls into thin patties using a spatula and cook until crispy and browned on both sides.
Optionally, add sliced cheddar or American cheese on top of the patties during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Spread the pimento cheese mixture on burger buns and assemble the burgers with the cooked patties and any additional toppings.
