Turkish Meat and Vegetable Stew

Ingredients

  • 500g beef or lamb cubes
  • 2 potatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 medium carrots
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 hot chili pepper or dried chili
  • 1 bowl cooked peas
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • salt, to taste
  • enough boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Preparation

  1. Heat the pot well and add the cubed meat, cook on high heat until it releases and absorbs its water.

  2. Once the meat has absorbed its water and is frying in its own fat, add 2 tablespoons of oil, chopped onions, and garlic; sauté for a few minutes.

  3. Add cubed carrots and sauté for a few more minutes.

  4. Add potatoes, chili pepper, and tomato cut to the same size; sauté for a few minutes.

  5. Add tomato paste, salt, and enough boiling water to cover the ingredients; cook on low heat until all are soft.

  6. When nearly done, add the cooked peas, boil for a short while, and turn off the heat.
