Date Sweetened Oats

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 medjool date, pitted and mashed
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Make berry jam from scratch by combining a cup of frozen fruit and a tsp of chia seeds in a microwave safe bowl and place in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds or until it thawed out berries

  2. Mash with a spoon or fork and combine to make sure chia seeds are properly mixed

  3. Allow to sit for about 10 minutes or until thickened

  4. Use to top oats or place in a sealable jar and refrigerate to use as a spread
