Date Sweetened Oats
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 medjool date, pitted and mashed
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- pinch of salt
Preparation
Make berry jam from scratch by combining a cup of frozen fruit and a tsp of chia seeds in a microwave safe bowl and place in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds or until it thawed out berries
Mash with a spoon or fork and combine to make sure chia seeds are properly mixed
Allow to sit for about 10 minutes or until thickened
Use to top oats or place in a sealable jar and refrigerate to use as a spread
