Cozy Peanut Butter and Jelly Oatmeal Bowl

Ingredients

Oatmeal

  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseeds
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

Berry jam

  • 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 2 tsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 tsp sweetener (optional)

Preparation

  1. Optional: To make oats creamy, use quick oats or process oats in a food processor.

  2. In a saucepan, add oats, banana, cinnamon, salt, flax seeds, and milk. Bring to a simmer on low to medium heat and allow to heat through and thicken for 3 minutes. Remove from stove.

  3. In a microwave-safe dish, combine chia seeds, frozen mixed berries, and sweetener. Microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds.

  4. Stir the jam and allow it to sit for 5 minutes to thicken.

  5. You can prepare the jam while waiting for the oats to cook or before cooking the oats.
