Spicy Pickled Guava Salad

Ingredients

  • 5 guavas (jambu klutuk)

Sauce

  • 6 curly red chilies
  • 6 red bird's eye chilies
  • 1/3 teaspoon fermented shrimp paste
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1.5 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup water

Preparation

  1. Wash and cut the guava to your preference.

  2. Grind the chilies and shrimp paste together.

  3. Boil the ground mixture with one cup of water until the chilies are cooked.

  4. Add salt, sugar, and vinegar to the mixture.

  5. Allow the sauce to cool, then mix it with the cut guava.

  6. Chill in the refrigerator to let the flavors infuse.
