Homemade Vegan Honey
Ingredients
- 3 hands full of dandelions
- 1 Liter / 34 oz water
- 1kg / 5 cups sugar
- 1 lemon
- juice of half an orange
Preparation
Wash the dandelions and remove the greens from the petals
Let the petals soak in 1 liter / 34 oz of water for 2 hours
After that add 1 sliced lemon and bring it to a boil, simmer for 5 mins
Let cool down over night
The next day strain it thoroughly until no bits are left
Add the sugar and the orange juice and boil for 1 to 2 hours
Check the consistency by drizzling it into a cold plate
Boil your jars and fill the hot honey inside
It will last in the unopened jars for at least 1 year
After opening store in the fridge
