Baked Mackerel with Lemon Garlic Marinade

Ingredients

  • 2 mackerel

Sauce

  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Toppings

  • Bay leaves
  • Onion slices

Preparation

  1. Wash the fish and let it drain completely.

  2. Mix all the sauce ingredients in a bowl.

  3. Coat each fish piece in the sauce on both sides.

  4. Line a baking tray with parchment paper and arrange the fish on it.

  5. Add 5-6 bay leaves and onion slices on top.

  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 250°C until golden brown, about 40 minutes.
