Malaysian Sweet and Sour Fish
Ingredients
- 3 Temenung fish
- Turmeric powder
- 1 stalk lemongrass
- 4 shallots
- 2 garlic cloves
- 2 red chilies
- 6 bird's eye chilies
- 1-inch piece ginger
- 1 Knorr chicken stock cube
- Tamarind juice, a little
- Salt, a little
- Sugar, a little
Garnish
- 6 bird's eye chilies
- Half onion
- Green onion, a little
Preparation
Coat the fish with turmeric powder and set aside.
Blend the lemongrass, shallots, garlic, red chilies, bird's eye chilies, and ginger together.
Sauté the blended mixture until golden.
Add tamarind juice and cook until oil separates.
Add salt, sugar, and Knorr chicken stock cube.
Cook until the sauce thickens.
Add the fish and garnish with bird's eye chilies, onion, and green onion.
Serve immediately.
