Squid Salad with Chili and Lime

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg squid
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 8 bird's eye chilies, mix of red and green
  • 2 limes
  • 1 tablespoon Thai palm sugar, can substitute with regular sugar if not available
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce (nam pla)
  • 1 tomato
  • A little cilantro

Preparation

  1. Boil squid briefly, remove and drain, and save 1-2 tablespoons of the boiling water

  2. Coarsely pound red onion, garlic, and bird's eye chilies, then add 1 tablespoon of the squid boiling water

  3. Add Thai palm sugar and fish sauce, mix well, and squeeze lime juice according to desired spiciness

  4. Taste and adjust seasoning as desired, add the drained squid to a container, and add the pounded mixture with the squid, then mix evenly until well combined so that the chili adheres to the squid

  5. Sprinkle diced tomato and finely chopped cilantro, then mix well

  6. It is ready
