Vegan Bacon with Rice Paper Marinade

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp liquid smoke (alternative: smoked paprika)
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
  • about 4 sheets of rice paper

Preparation

  1. Mix all the marinade ingredients together in a bowl to create a uniform sauce.

  2. Cut the rice paper into thin strips resembling bacon slices.

  3. Dip the rice paper strips into the marinade, ensuring they are well coated, and let them sit for a few minutes to absorb the flavors.

  4. Cook the marinated strips in a preheated oven, air fryer, or skillet until they become crispy and bacon-like in texture.
