Vegan Tofu Bacon for BLT
Ingredients
- 450 g firm tofu, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil (for baking sheet)
- 1 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
Preparation
Mix the onion powder, nutritional yeast, soy sauce, maple syrup, liquid smoke, and 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to create a marinade
Coat the thinly sliced tofu with the marinade and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes
Preheat the oven to 200°C
Oil a baking sheet with the remaining 2 tablespoons vegetable oil.
Arrange the marinated tofu slices on the baking sheet and bake until crispy, about 20-30 minutes, flipping halfway through
