Steamed Condensed Milk Cake

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup castor sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ovalette
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil

Preparation

  1. Beat the eggs, sugar, ovalette, and vanilla until fluffy.

  2. Add the condensed milk and beat for another 5 minutes.

  3. Sift the flour and baking powder, then fold into the mixture using a spatula until well combined.

  4. Add the cooking oil and mix until fully incorporated.

  5. Divide the batter into portions and add food coloring as desired.

  6. Steam the batter in molds for 30 minutes on medium heat.

Tips

  1. To prevent the cake from collapsing, after steaming, move the steamer away from the heat source and do not open the lid immediately; let it sit for a while before opening.
