Moist Steamed Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 1 cup liquid milk
  • 1 cup sugar (reduced for less sweetness)
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 3 eggs

Sifted

  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Topping

  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup liquid milk
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 4-5 tablespoons margarine or butter

Preparation

  1. Blend all the main ingredients for 5 minutes.

  2. Sift the dry ingredients together.

  3. Combine the blended mixture with the sifted ingredients and mix well.

  4. Pour the mixture into a cake pan.

  5. Heat the steamer.

  6. Steam the cake for 40 minutes.

  7. While the cake is steaming, mix condensed milk, liquid milk, and cocoa powder until smooth.

  8. Gradually add margarine or butter and cook until thickened.

  9. Cool the topping before pouring it over the cake.

  10. Refrigerate the cake after adding the topping.

Tips

  1. Adjust the sugar amount to reduce sweetness if desired.

  2. Prepare the cake the night before for better flavor and texture.
