Bulgur and Potato Patties
Ingredients
- 1 cup fine bulgur
- 1 cup hot water for soaking bulgur
- 1 small potato
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon flour
- Black pepper, to taste
- Red pepper flakes, to taste
- Cumin, to taste
- Salt, to taste
Sauce
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1.5 cups water
- Salt, to taste
Preparation
Soak the bulgur in hot water for about 15-20 minutes until softened.
Grate the potato and mix it with the soaked bulgur, egg, flour, and spices to form a mixture.
Shape the mixture into small patties or balls.
Fry the patties in a skillet with oil until golden brown on both sides.
For the sauce, heat vegetable oil in a pan and sauté minced garlic until fragrant.
Add tomato paste to the sauce pan and cook for a minute, then stir in water and salt, and simmer until thickened.
Serve the patties with the sauce poured over them.
