Creamy Tahini Tofu Bake

Ingredients

  • 2 packages extra firm tofu
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce or coconut amino
  • 1 teaspoon agave or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon neutral oil

Preparation

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess water.

  2. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (204°C).

  3. Spray a large pan with oil to prevent sticking; use two pans if necessary for two packages of tofu.

  4. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-size cubes and place evenly on the prepared pan.

  5. Bake the tofu for 20 minutes.

  6. Remove from oven, flip the tofu, and bake for an additional 20 minutes.

  7. In a medium bowl, combine tahini, sriracha, soy sauce, agave, rice wine vinegar, garlic powder, and water; whisk together.

  8. Add the baked tofu to the bowl and mix to coat with the sauce.

  9. Serve with your favorite grain and vegetables, such as rice, edamame, avocado, and mushrooms.

Tips

  1. Add more sriracha if you prefer extra spiciness.

  2. You can use one package of tofu if desired, resulting in extra sauce for drizzling.
