Baked Tofu with Creamy Tahini Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 packages extra firm tofu, pressed
  • 1 tsp neutral oil (for pan)

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1 Tbsp sriracha
  • 2 tsp soy sauce or coconut amino
  • 1 tsp agave or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 Tbsp water

Preparation

  1. Press the tofu to remove excess water

  2. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit

  3. Spray a large pan with oil to prevent sticking; use two pans if necessary for two packages of tofu

  4. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-size cubes and place evenly on the prepared pan

  5. Bake the tofu for 20 minutes, then remove, flip, and bake for an additional 20 minutes

  6. In a medium bowl, combine the sauce ingredients and whisk until smooth

  7. Add the baked tofu to the bowl and mix to coat with the sauce

  8. Pair the tofu with your favorite grain and vegetables, such as rice, edamame, avocado, and mushrooms

Notes

  1. You can use one package of tofu instead of two, which will leave extra sauce for drizzling

  2. Add more sriracha if you prefer a spicier flavor
