Spiced White Peas with Kulcha Bread

Ingredients

  • White peas
  • Salt
  • Garam masala
  • Chaat masala
  • Lemon juice
  • Red chilli powder
  • Cumin powder
  • Mint coriander chutney
  • Sweet imli chutney
  • Onions
  • Tomatoes
  • Ginger
  • Fresh coriander
  • Green chillies
  • Kulchas

Preparation

  1. Make the mint coriander chutney and sweet imli chutney in advance.

  2. Soak the white peas overnight or for at least 3 hours.

  3. Boil the soaked peas with some salt until cooked.

  4. Once boiled, add a little garam masala, chaat masala, lemon juice, red chilli powder, cumin powder, mint coriander chutney, and sweet imli chutney.

  5. Adjust the spices according to taste.

  6. Garnish generously with onions, tomatoes, julienne ginger, fresh coriander, and green chillies.

  7. Serve with soft kulchas slightly heated with oil or butter.
