Brazilian Super Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
Cake
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup sweetened chocolate drink mix (Nescau or Toddy)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
Sauce
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup sweetened chocolate drink mix (Nescau or Toddy)
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1 (200ml) box heavy cream
Preparation
Beat eggs, sweetened chocolate drink mix, sugar, and oil until well combined
Add flour and mix well
Quickly add boiling water and mix rapidly to incorporate
Stir in baking powder
Pour the batter into a greased cake pan
Bake in a preheated oven at 200Β°C for 35 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
Let the cake cool completely
Sauce
In a saucepan, combine sugar, sweetened chocolate drink mix, margarine, and heavy cream
Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens
Remove from heat and let cool
Pour the cooled sauce over the cooled cake
