Ingredients

  • 1 cup Black chickpeas ( Garbanzo beans) • 1 tsp salt • 1 tsp red chilli powder • 1 tsp cummin seeds • 1/2 tsp corriander powder
  • 7, 8 curry leaves • 1 tsp mango powder • 1tsp lemon juice • 1tbsp corriander leaves ( chopped )

Preparation

  1. Wash and soak legumes over night ■ In the morning they will swell up and double in size and it will take less time to cook . ■ Drain them through strainer ■ Cook them in pressure cooker for 10minutes , if you don't have pressure cooker then take a big pot reduce the heat and simmer the chickpeas with lid slightly ajar, cook till 45 to 55 minutes or until tender . ■ In a pan heat oil , add cummin seeds, curry leaves ■ when they start to crackle add in all the spices except mango powder. And mix well

  2. Add Chickpeas and mix well in the spices adding lemon juice and mango powder ■ Switch off has and add corriander leaves ■ Serve it hot with any bread or relish or add to any salad greens
