Turnip Peas Curry : German Turnip/noolkal/ Kohlrabi
Ingredients
- oil
- cumin seeds
- ginger paste
- tomatoes
- tumeric
- 1 turnip
- peas
- 1/4th cup of water
Preparation
Eat oil in a pan and once it heats ups, add the cumin seeds
Once they splutter, add the ginger paste cook for a few seconds until the raw smell is gone
Dd the tomatoes, tumeric
Cook on a low to medium heat until the tomatoes are mushy and oil begins to separate at the edges
Add the turnip, the peas and some salt and mix well
Add 1/4th cup of water ( or about just enough water to just cover the vegetables ) and cook covered on a medium heat until the vegetables are cooked. I
It would talk about 7-8 minutes since turnips do not take very long to cook
Serve hot with piping hot Fulkas or steamed Rice
