Turnip Peas Curry : German Turnip/noolkal/ Kohlrabi

Ingredients

  • oil
  • cumin seeds
  • ginger paste
  • tomatoes
  • tumeric
  • 1 turnip
  • peas
  • 1/4th cup of water

Preparation

  1. Eat oil in a pan and once it heats ups, add the cumin seeds

  2. Once they splutter, add the ginger paste cook for a few seconds until the raw smell is gone

  3. Dd the tomatoes, tumeric

  4. Cook on a low to medium heat until the tomatoes are mushy and oil begins to separate at the edges

  5. Add the turnip, the peas and some salt and mix well

  6. Add 1/4th cup of water ( or about just enough water to just cover the vegetables ) and cook covered on a medium heat until the vegetables are cooked. I

  7. It would talk about 7-8 minutes since turnips do not take very long to cook

  8. Serve hot with piping hot Fulkas or steamed Rice
