Blackbean and Mushroom Burger

Ingredients

  • 6 portobello mushrooms ⁠
  • 1 can of black beans (or red kidney beans)⁠
  • 1/2 cup oats⁠
  • 1 tsp cumin⁠
  • 1 tbsp tamari sauce⁠
  • flour⁠ (or gluten free flour)⁠
  • 1/2 cup coriander⁠
  • 2 cloves of garlic ⁠
  • 1 red onion⁠
  • olive oil⁠
  • salt & pepper to taste⁠⁠

Preparation

  1. Chop mushrooms and fry in a saucepan with olive oil until golden brown⁠

  2. Chop onion and lightly fry in olive oil, with chopped garlic, then add all fried ingredients to a food processor ⁠

  3. Drain beans and add to food processor⁠

  4. Add coriander roughly chopped⁠

  5. Add oats, cumin, tamari, and cracked pepper⁠

  6. Blend into a thick paste ⁠

  7. Sprinkle flour onto a plate⁠

  8. Use a quarter cup measure to form a burger from the burger paste ⁠

  9. Roll in flour and shape into burger⁠

  10. Cook in olive oil ⁠

  11. Drain on a paper towel, then serve in a healthy seeded bun with your fave burger fillers
