Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry
Ingredients
- 250g fresh beef (thinly sliced)
- 1 head broccoli (blanched until 3/4 cooked)
- 1/2 small red bell pepper (sliced)
- 1/2 onion (sliced)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 250ml water
- Cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in 5 tablespoons water)
- Sugar to taste
- Salt to taste
- Beef bouillon powder to taste (optional)
- Cooking oil for sautéing to taste
Marinade
- 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
Preparation
Mix the beef with the marinade ingredients and let it sit for 30 minutes.
Heat cooking oil in a pan and sauté garlic until fragrant, then add bell pepper, onion, and beef and cook until the beef changes color.
Pour in water, salt, sugar, and beef bouillon powder and cook until it boils.
Once boiling, add the cornstarch slurry and stir.
Cook until the beef is done and the liquid reduces, then adjust seasoning to taste.
Add the broccoli and stir briefly.
Turn off the heat, remove, and serve.
