Oil-Based Sugar-Free Apple Crumble Breakfast

Ingredients

  • 5-6 small apples
  • 90g rolled oats
  • Approximately 50-60g all-purpose flour
  • 120ml neutral oil (or coconut oil)
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • Coconut shreds
  • 3 tbsp sweetener
  • 2-3 tsp cinnamon
  • Cardamom
  • Ginger
  • Pinch of salt
  • Water

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

  2. Dice the small apples into thin slices and place them in a pan or pot. Add about 3-4 tbsp of water, a little sweetener (or brown sugar), generous amounts of cinnamon, a touch of cardamom, and ginger. Heat on medium until the apples soften. Excess water can be poured away or used as a base for the pie.

  3. In a baking bowl, combine rolled oats, all-purpose flour, coconut shreds, sweetener, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.

  4. Add neutral oil and peanut butter to the dry mixture. Stir until everything is combined, ensuring the oats are coated and the texture resembles a crumble.

  5. Once the apples are soft, place them in a greased baking form. Cover the apples with the prepared crumble mixture.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until the crumble turns golden brown.

  7. Allow the apple crumble to cool before serving.

  8. Serve with vanilla soy yogurt or vanilla sauce.
