Oil-Based Sugar-Free Apple Crumble Breakfast
Ingredients
- 5-6 small apples
- 90g rolled oats
- Approximately 50-60g all-purpose flour
- 120ml neutral oil (or coconut oil)
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- Coconut shreds
- 3 tbsp sweetener
- 2-3 tsp cinnamon
- Cardamom
- Ginger
- Pinch of salt
- Water
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Dice the small apples into thin slices and place them in a pan or pot. Add about 3-4 tbsp of water, a little sweetener (or brown sugar), generous amounts of cinnamon, a touch of cardamom, and ginger. Heat on medium until the apples soften. Excess water can be poured away or used as a base for the pie.
In a baking bowl, combine rolled oats, all-purpose flour, coconut shreds, sweetener, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
Add neutral oil and peanut butter to the dry mixture. Stir until everything is combined, ensuring the oats are coated and the texture resembles a crumble.
Once the apples are soft, place them in a greased baking form. Cover the apples with the prepared crumble mixture.
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until the crumble turns golden brown.
Allow the apple crumble to cool before serving.
Serve with vanilla soy yogurt or vanilla sauce.
