Spaghetti S Q U a S H + Sauce

Ingredients

  • Spaghetti
  • ground beef or turkey
  • splash of olive oil
  • 1 onion + 2 carrots
  • sprinkle of salt
  • garlic & diced green pepper
  • crushed tomato
  • 3/4 cup broth {or water} and 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • handful of fresh basil chopped or 1 tbsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • salt
  • pepper

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 400

  2. Cut squash in half lengthwise

  3. Rub with olive oil, salt & pepper

  4. Place cut side down on a baking sheet & poke a few holes on the outside with a fork

  5. Bake for 40 mins

  6. Over med-high heat in a large pot cook ground beef or turkey until brown; remove from heat & drain

  7. Add a splash of olive oil, 1 onion + 2 carrots diced with a sprinkle of salt

  8. After 5 mins add garlic & diced green pepper for 30 seconds

  9. Add 1 28 oz can of crushed tomato, 3/4 cup broth {or water} and 2 tbsp tomato paste, handful of fresh basil chopped or 1 tbsp dried basil, 1 tsp chili flakes, salt, pepper & cooked meat

  10. Simmer for 25 mins {or pressure cook for 10 mins + 10 min natural release in your @instantpotofficial }
