Warm Apple Pie Oatmeal
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup oats (quick or rolled)
- 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
- 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- Pinch of cardamom
- 2 tablespoons chopped dried apples
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
Apple topping
- 1 Fuji apple
- 1 teaspoon sweetener of choice
- Pinch of cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon water
Preparation
Add all ingredients to a saucepan and bring to a low medium heat to simmer.
Stir the oats with a spoon or spatula as it cooks for about 3 minutes.
Remove from the stovetop and top the oatmeal as desired.
Apple topping
Thinly slice a Fuji apple.
Add the sliced apple, 1 teaspoon of sweetener of choice, a pinch of cinnamon, a pinch of salt, and 1 tablespoon of water to a pan.
Cook until the apples soften and brown, then pour over the oatmeal.
