Apple Pie Oats
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup oats (quick or rolled, doesn’t matter or you can opt for some quick steel cut varieties too)
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- Pinch cardamom
- 2 tbsp chopped dried apples
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (you can add more if you want them to be looser)
Preparation
Add all ingredients to a sauce pan and bring to a low medium heat to simmer
With a spoon or spatula, stir oats as it cooks, about 3 minutes
Remove from stove top and top oatmeal as desired
For some apple goodness, I took a Fuji apple and thinly sliced it up to cook on the stove top
Add a tsp of sweetener of choice (I used sugar today), pinch of cinnamon, pinch of salt and 1 tbsp water
Allow apples to cook and brown until soften then pour over oatmeal
