Easy Vegan Cheese Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 large potato
  • 1 large carrot
  • 2 cups unsweetened non-dairy milk
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup nutritional yeast flakes

Preparation

  1. Boil the potato and carrot until soft.

  2. Chop them into small chunks.

  3. Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.

Tips

  1. Use this sauce as a side for dipping or pour over baked tofu, tempeh, pasta, or lasagne.

  2. Reduce the amount of non-dairy milk to make the sauce thicker for vegan pizzas or nachos.

  3. This cheese sauce has no preservatives, less sugar and saturated/trans fat, less sodium, and is not as processed.

  4. It is gluten-free and a low-carb alternative to flour-based vegan cheese sauces.
