Easy Vegan Cheese Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 large potato
- 1 large carrot
- 2 cups unsweetened non-dairy milk
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup nutritional yeast flakes
Preparation
Boil the potato and carrot until soft.
Chop them into small chunks.
Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
Tips
Use this sauce as a side for dipping or pour over baked tofu, tempeh, pasta, or lasagne.
Reduce the amount of non-dairy milk to make the sauce thicker for vegan pizzas or nachos.
This cheese sauce has no preservatives, less sugar and saturated/trans fat, less sodium, and is not as processed.
It is gluten-free and a low-carb alternative to flour-based vegan cheese sauces.
