Savory Baked Sweet Tofu Cubes

Ingredients

  • 1 block tofu
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder

Preparation

  1. Drain the tofu block and press to remove excess water

  2. Cut the pressed tofu into cubes

  3. Place the tofu cubes in a medium-sized container

  4. Add the remaining ingredients to the container

  5. Seal the container and gently shake to coat the tofu evenly

  6. Place the coated tofu on a baking sheet

  7. Bake at 400°F for 25 minutes

  8. Serve as desired

Tips

  1. To press tofu manually: wrap the block in paper towels or a clean towel, place between two plates, and set a heavy weight on top. Press for at least one hour

  2. Pre-pressed super firm tofu (vacuum packed) can be used to save time

  3. Pressing removes water, resulting in chewier tofu that absorbs marinade better
