Savory Baked Sweet Tofu Cubes
Ingredients
- 1 block tofu
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder
Preparation
Drain the tofu block and press to remove excess water
Cut the pressed tofu into cubes
Place the tofu cubes in a medium-sized container
Add the remaining ingredients to the container
Seal the container and gently shake to coat the tofu evenly
Place the coated tofu on a baking sheet
Bake at 400°F for 25 minutes
Serve as desired
Tips
To press tofu manually: wrap the block in paper towels or a clean towel, place between two plates, and set a heavy weight on top. Press for at least one hour
Pre-pressed super firm tofu (vacuum packed) can be used to save time
Pressing removes water, resulting in chewier tofu that absorbs marinade better
