Baked Savory Sweet Tofu
Ingredients
- 1 block tofu, drained and pressed
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder
Preparation
Drain and press the tofu using the methods listed below.
Cut the pressed tofu into cubes.
Place the tofu in a medium-sized Tupperware container.
Add the remaining ingredients, seal the container, and gently shake to coat the tofu evenly.
Place the coated tofu on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 25 minutes at 400°F.
Serve as desired.
Tofu pressing tips
If you’ve never heard of pressing your tofu, it’s a process that helps remove water from the block of tofu you purchase. You can either buy a tofu press that can press the water out for you, use pre-pressed tofu (usually vacuum packed and called super firm tofu), or press it by wrapping the tofu block in paper towels or a clean towel, placing it between two plates and resting a heavy book over top. Typically, press the tofu for at least an hour or more to achieve a chewy texture and better marination.
