Baked Savory Sweet Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 block tofu, drained and pressed
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp ginger powder

Preparation

  1. Drain and press tofu using methods listed below

  2. Cut pressed tofu into cubes

  3. Place tofu in a medium sized Tupperware container

  4. Add remaining ingredients, seal container and gently shake to coat tofu in all the ingredients evenly

  5. Place coated tofu on a baking sheet and place in oven for 25 minutes at 400F

  6. Serve as desired

Notes

  1. Pressing tofu removes water from the block, which helps achieve a chewy texture and better marination

  2. You can press tofu by using a tofu press, buying pre-pressed super firm tofu, or wrapping the block in paper towels or a clean towel between two plates with a heavy book on top

  3. Press the tofu for at least an hour for the best results
